A bachelor's degree either in Marine Engineering or in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
A Certificate of Competency of Marine Engineer Officer Class-I (Steam or Motor or Combined Steam and Motor) as specified in the Merchant Shipping Act, 2025.

Must have at least 8 years of experience after the first certificate of competency in sea going regular vessels, classification societies, ship building yards, or equivalent maritime departments.
